Et un autre post en anglais, un !
kiarasayre asked : "Pluto/Charon! My favorite anthropomorphic (dwarf-) planetary pairing."
1 - Pluto - Björk
Obvious. Don't ask why I've picked up this song. That would be irrelevant.
Excuse me
But I just have to
Explode
Explode this body
Off me
2 - Space Dementia - Muse
Its title says everything which needs to be known. Really everything.
Space dementia in your eyes and
Peace will arise
And tear us apart
And make us meaningless again
3 - Doctor's Theme - Murray Gold
Instrumental from Doctor Who OST. The Doctor is a Time Lord, so I think that this song fits as well for two planets.
4 - Satellite - Lena
A pop song is quite surprising here, but I appreciate that one and I believe that its title and lyrics could be appropriate.
Like a satellite
I’m in an orbit all the way around you
And I would fall out into the night
Can’t go a minute without your love
5 - Shores Of Orion - God Is An Astronaut
Instrumental. The title of the song, its rythm and the name of the group go very well with the idea of Pluto and Charon.
6 - Supermassive Black Hole - Muse
A song really catchy, quite weird but this still is thematic with the pairing. And I love the lyrics.
(You set my soul alight)
Glaciers melting in the dead of night
And the superstars sucked into the supermassive
Supermassive black hole
7 - Like Spinning Plates - Radiohead
Another weird one. This is what this ship needs, really. And once again, the lyrics are just what I looked for. Because yes, the rotation of a planet is just like spinning plates.
And this just feels like spinning plates
I'm living in cloud cuckoo land
And this just feels like spinning plates
My body is floating down the muddy river
8 - One Step Beyond - Karsh Kale
Instrumental. Electronic and a bit experimental. I feel the pulse of the Solar System when I hear that one.
9 - Hidden Place - Björk
A soft song, despite the fact that it is electronic too. Well, not exactly. Electro-pop, in fact. Whatever. Björk knows how to talk of this kind of odd love. I especially like the part about "a charm that makes him invisible", because in the Greek Mythology, Hades, who becomes later PLuto, has such a item.
He's the beautifullest
Fragilest
Still strong
Dark and divine
And the littleness of his movements
Hides himself
He invents a charm that makes him invisible
10 - Away From The Sun - Three Doors Down
Once again, the choice of an alternative song could be surprising, but I though that the lyrics could well describe the position of these planets.
'Cause now again I've found myself
So far down, away from the sun
That shines into the darkest place
I'm so far down, away from the sun again
Away from the sun again
I'm over this
I'm tired of living in the dark
Once again, tell me if I've made mistakes !
