[FST] [Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell] Crazy Magic

Je continue à crossposter mes fst...

kor_pi  asked for "A general FST for Susanna Clarke's Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell".
 

And I have done that !

I've intitled that "Crazy Magic" because in this book, madness and fairies' magic are linked.
 

1 ~ O'stravaganza ~ Courson & Youenn Le Berre
Instrumental. I though that this could fit to the parties attented by Lady Pole, in the human world.


2 ~ Idylle Pour la Paix ~ Lully
Instrumental. A piece which could take place when Mr Norrell do magic for the very first time, in the church. This also reminds the Raven King.


3 ~ The Wrong Side ~ Abney Park
A quite good depiction of the gentleman with thistle-down hair.
 
This our time, the nights our day
We'll dance this fading life away
I run on the wrong side of life
I'm the one that you fear when you hold your wife
I run where the darker crowds run
On the rain-swept streets where black rain runs 
 
 

4 ~ Evil Theme  ~ Danny Elfman
Instrumental. A theme song which fits quite well with the gentleman with thistle-down hair.


5 ~ Hymni Nocturnale ~ Qntal
Instrumental. A song about the rites accomplished by Mr Norrell, and about the hours spent in the librairy.


6 ~ Comment Te Dire ~ Kyo
A description of Stephen Black, cursed by the gentleman with thistle-down hair and unable to speak about that.

7 ~ Al Raqs [La Danse] ~ Courson
Instrumental. The dances in Lost-Hope. This is about the gentleman with thistle-down hair, dancing with Lady Pole and Stephen Black.


8 ~ L'Arlésienne Suite #1 - Prélude ~ Bizet
Instrumental. The Napoleon wars, where Jonathan Strange fights bravely.


9 ~ Pale ~ Within Temptation
A depiction of the humans cursed by the fairies. This time, this is Lady Pole who speaks.

The world seems not the same
Though I know nothing has changed
It's all my state of mind
I can't leave it all behind
I have to stand up to be stronger

To break free


10 ~ Danse Macabre [Violin Hook] ~ Camille de Saint-Saëns
Instrumental. This describes the dance of the king of England, tricked by the fairies, and the way how Jonathan Strange rescues him.


11 ~ Je Te Vends Mon Âme ~ Kyo
A song about Stephen, once again, and his relationship with the gentleman with thistle-down hair. I ship them here.

12 ~ Lorna ~ XVII° VIE
Instrumental. A song about the fairies in general, and the power of the Raven King.


13 ~ Dark Voices ~ Era
A song about Arabella Strange, stolen by the gentleman with thistle-down hair and send to death, begging for Jonathan's help.

Instrumental. This is the end of the book, with Arabella and Jonathan separated forever.


15 ~ Adiemus ~ Karl Jenkins
Instrumental. The coronation of Stephen Black as king of the fairies of Lost-Hope.

Ah, ça c'est bien, tu feras des découvertes, du coup ! Par curiosité, qu'est-ce que tu connais déjà, dans la liste ? Terra e, j'imagine, et puis ?

Oh, c'est magnifique ! Elle colle complètement, que ce soit au niveau des paroles ou de la mélodie... J'aime beaucoup. ^__^

Je ne l'ai pas encore écouté, et je ne suis pas sûre de connaître les titres, surtout dans les instrumentaux (je n'avais même pas repéré qu'il y avait du Terra e). Mais j'adore Danse macabre, et par contre, je me souviens que je n'étais pas super-fan de Kyo quand c'est sorti, mais l'associer à un livre que j'aime peut le faire remonter dans mon estime, je te dirai. :-)

Entre les deux. xD J'ai des chansons qui collent à des persos en particulier, comme Serafina Pekkala, Lyra ou Jopari, mais dans l'ensemble, ce sera plutôt sur l'atmosphère et sur l'intrigue...
